Default Surfing NSW in March...Where are moderate waves +beachbrakes?

Expedia Bali 72 hr Sale. Up to 55% off Hotels, Hurry, Book Now! Book by 31 Jan – 2 Feb for Travel Dates 31st Jan – 31st May
    Hello everyone!

I'll be spending 3 weeks in NSW in March 2010 for improving surfing.
I started surfing 2009 in a camp in Portugal and have 4 weeks surfing experience in total now.
I'm kinda old (36) but sporty and ambitious to catch waves. :-)

In Portugal I always felt the waves were too big for me, sometimes it even was not possible (using a 7''6 NSP) to get into the line up. (Wave size like 7-8 feet)

So somewhere I heard surfing in Australia might be reasonable. ;-)))

    Have you any suggestions

    a) where to go for semi-beginners like me (and my longboard-riding-beginner-boyfriend) - should be spots with no rocks - as I use to nose dive from time to time ;-)

    b) where to buy a (used?) minimalibu (7''6) - maybe at surf schools? What price is reasonable for a surf school used board?

Thank you & greetings from Munich
    Niki

Well just about the entire East coast of Australia has beach breaks to suite what you are after. Perhaps try to find a spot near one of the surfschools http://www.surfaus.com.au/learn-surf...ew-South-Wales

That way you can get some lessons and surf on your own too

There is always a surfshop in just about every town on the East coast, so you should have no trouble. A good place to look as whitepages.com.au and yellowpages.com.au to get phone numbers ~ just put in surf and the area you are looking at visiting

or if you want, when you work out where you want to go, post the info here and someone might know a good place near to you
