    Hi everybody,

I am looking at getting back into surfing again after about 20 years.....I grew up on the Gold Coast and surf through my early teens...moved away and now I am back.

    Anyway I have some questions....
    I am about 5'9 and weigh about 75kgs - I am either thinking of a mini-mal around 7'4 - 7-6, or a longer board around 8'5 +.
I haven't surfed for a long time and just want to get back into it for fun.
Are mini mals a good buy - I have been warned by a surfer friend that I wouldn't be accepted in the surfing world coz I am neither a longboarder or a short board rider - but stuck somewhere in the middle....
What would be the best way to get back into it - a longer 8 foot + or a minimal as I mentioned. I want something fun, relatively easy to paddle, and something that I will progress on.
Anyway, hope to hear some thoughts from everyone.

    Thanks.

i would go mini mal - easier to handle, transport and you can have a lot of fun on them

I would recommend a Mini Mal is the best choice.. If you are a better surfer i recommended a Parabolic
Swim and surf faster with Wetsuits and
    Bodyboards
