Gday all. Just getting back into surfing after a layoff of 15 years or so, and while Ive been looking for a cheap mini mal to start back with Ive seen alot of these "Epoxy Boards" for sale on places like ebay and such. Question is what are they. Are they a kind of plastic board? Are they any good? Are they heavy, light? Would they make a good re-entry (no pun intended) level board to start with? Im 5'10' and 93kg and would be looking at something between a 7' to a 7'6". Or should I just stay clear of them as some local will take a swing at me for being a "Popout Kook" (sorry 70`s terminoligy)
    Cheers
    Craig

Ive had a bit of advice on these boards since posting this. Seems they are alright ,if not somewhat mass produced they aboard 4.jpgre light and dont ding easily. However if you do damage it they are hard to fix. This is no option for me now as Im going to board 1.jpgpick this up today. Payed $200 for it with a legrope and bag. Should be a nice board to get back into it with. 7'6" mini mal.board 5.jpg

Ive ridden this epoxy board for 5 months and its hardly had any damage whatsoever as opposed to the board i owned before which I snapped and had pressure dings from my heels and cracks and crushes all over. This board is the same same size but even floats better! EPOXY 360 surfboard 6'2" ,18.5' Leash, and fins included! | Sport & Fitness | Gumtree Currambine
