I spent the winter working with kitesurfing songwriter Eric Stroeve.
Our goal was to film him kitesurfing some new breaks on Maui during what was expected to be the best winter season in 10 years. For the first 4 weeks, there was no wind. We opted to spend those days surfing at Honolua Bay. Eric recorded his new single Lift Me Up and it was intended to be used as a kitesurfing song. We had so much good surf, and so much good video, that we decided to use it as a video test run to see what we could come up with. After I saw the video I was like "that is it!". That is the best surfing love song I have ever heard. Don't the waves not only lift you up physically, but also as a surfer they lift us up spiritually!
