OK... Anyone know of a real good spot for a surf holiday.
Got a wife and kids, so i need the usual facilities to suit the better half. I need epic waves. I need it on a reasonable budget....
    Suggestions please.

If there is some swell, depending on the waves you like. Scotts Head and Crecent Head would be good. Both have on site vans and all that to make it easy for you.

Another spot that is good is the area just south of Forster. Boomerang Beach always has decent waves. There are a fair few nice waves on the way north. I just woke up so I will think about it and add a few as this coffee kicks in

    • Port Maquarie - Bonnie Hills (beach breaks)
    • Hat Head
    • Old Bar

I go there only a 6 monthly kinda basis with mates. It does get good. The wave off the point is kinda slow if you catch it closer in, if you take off sort of around the point you can get a nice wave across the front of the rock ledge... would be good on your bodyboard. As for the beach break it has its moments, there is a little beach on the southern side of the point/shops/caravan park that usually has something worth while to muck around in. Also if its good you have Grassy a 5-10 minute drive and if basically if you want to walk up the beach you can usually find a decent beach break... just a bit sharky on that beach sometimes

Its a nice spot thats for sure, bowling club for dinner, supermarket etc... nice spot if you have kids to... Basically once you set up in your place you can survive without ever starting the car. The second time I went there I didn't have to start my car for 6 days and when I went to on the last day the battery was flat

Have a look here for some pics of the places I mention btw... There is some of boomerang and Scotts head... Also another few of Seal Rocks which isn't to far either
