Re: Tumbleweed
and the shows keep on keeping on . . . .
It’s been quite the success story for the mighty stoner rock outfit from Wollongong, TUMBLEWEED, since coming back from the grave in the latter part of 2009. Late last year they started a series of reunion gigs at festivals such as Homebake and Meredith Music Festival and those shows went so well, before you know the ‘weed were doing The Espy NYE, a cuppla Big Days Out in Sydney and one in Melbourne and were also meant to appear at the illfated Lost Weekend in Brisbane.
Not bad for a band who hadn’t played together for 15 years….
The best part of all this is not only have all the gigs have gone marvelously well but the band have been loving it and don’t intend to stop in a hurry.
In the not too distant future you’ll see some TUMBLEWEED product hit the shelves. Firstly in the form of a double cd retrospective to be released on Aztec Music, (home of many a fabulous re-release).
This TUMBLEWEED collection will feature all the material released by their first home, Waterfront Records, and will come complete with a fantastic booklet of memorabilia.
The band have also been working on new material which is the real big news. That’s right, new material. TUMBLEWEED hope for at least one new single to be on the airwaves and available for purchase before the end of 2010. Stay tuned.
You may even hear something new at one of these gigs if you’re lucky.
