Young surfer Page Hareb of Taranaki New Zealand took the ASP World Junior Billabong Pro in a fierce battle with Sally Fitzgibbon. Sally was on a winner streak however page had what was needed to put and end to it and came out triumfant in the Coffs Harbour competition. The conditions were around the meter mark at Diggers Beach. Page opened with two consecutive waves of 8.75 and 7.75 giving her a firm standing for the remainder of the heats. Fitzgibbons was now in a position where she had no choice but to dig herself out of it with some very solid scores.

Hang Loose Pro - ASP 5 Star Prime Men's Event
American surfers made their presence felt at the Hang Loose Pro held at Fernando de Noronha in Brazil. With a combination of three South American Surfers and Three North American Surfers along with a Frenchman and a Spanish surfer reaching the quarter finals of the 2008 competition. Past winners of the event were all knocked out in the three to five foot conditions on the famous Cacimba do Padre Beach.
Peru Hosts The ALAS Reef Classic
Sebastian de Romana performs in excellent conditions with conditions that look to be heading in the right direction to see some great waves in the final days of competition. One Hundred and Eighteen Surfers registered for the ALAS Reef Classic in Peru setting an all time record for entrants since the competitions original beginning.
Volcom offer $10k if you can Kick-flip a Surfboard
Over a year after it's first offer, Volcom has added a little more ‘motivation‘ to the contest. US$10,000 is now on offer for the first person that can offer recorded proof of them selfs pulling off a kick-flip on surfboard. But even with the stakes raised, they are yet to get anyone that can produce a fully landed kick-flip on a surfboard. With this much on offer many people have tried and but no one has yet to pull it off.
